A blog about my travels and adventures as a professional volleyball player
Sendai, Japan Gallery
There may have been a serious case of the giggles during this picture and video that we filmed.
We found a pet store and visited it more than a couple times to get our fuzzy friend fix 🙂
A Subway Sandwich has never tasted so good
Coolest Escalator I’ve ever seen! It basically had you go up then ride the flat part then go up again!
Post birthday dinner for Pao
World Grad Prix Banners
Sports Bar in Japan
First pic of Sendai
An awesome recooperation day at a neighboring pool
A water slide in Sendai? And without supervision? While the lifeguard’s away, the USA athletes will play! 🙂
Grabbin the sun while we can!
These little treats were the most delicious things EVER. Basically a fish shaped waffle filled with your choice of custard, hazelnut (basically chocolate), or red bean. The first or 2nd is clearly the best.
Post Win Sunset
Yes, it was AWFULLY humid the entire time in Sendai. This is how I felt.
Best Ramen EVER!
Boat ride around the Matushima Islands
I think we were more entertained by feeding all of the seagulls off the back of the boat than seeing the islands.
In case of emergency, follow the arrow!
Subway Station of Sendai
Super weird/cool to really not fit in while just walkin’ around.
We ate Shabu Shabu one of our first nights and it was awesome! It’s kind of like fondue, but you actually cook very thin slices of meet and veggies and other things very quickly in the different broths.
Story time with the King. Karch seriously has some of the best tales.
A big thanks to the Sendai University Team for letting us train there during our off week
I grew up watching the Braves with my dad and my brother and Andrew Jones was always one of my favorite players. LIttle did I know, he’s playing on the pro team in Sendai these days!
So many fun snacks in Japan
Kayla and the Colonel
Matcha Green Tea Frappe from Starbucks. Green Tea flavored everything here.
Tryin on some Japanese accessories
The Starbucks Baristas were super nice!
Interesting to see how vertical Sendai is. Lots of shops and restaurants on the 4th, 5th, 6th floor of buildings.
